This recently completed scaffolding for schools project by the Drake Scaffolding team was carried out at Rosalind Community College in Tregony, Cornwall where two of the main blocks were scheduled to have their roofs replaced.

Safeguarding Protocol

Each operative was required to have a DBS certificate due to working in an educational environment. They were also required to maintain professional conduct and safety procedures at all times. Additionally, we held regular safety meetings, to ensure everyone was in line with safety protocols. We also implemented extensive safety measures due to the nature of the environment. It was paramount that both students and staff remained safe during the roofing work.

Minimising Disruption

Aside from safety measures, the scaffolding design was particularly challenging as we had to consider factors such as working around active school areas and the impact on everyday school activities. Our experienced team came up with a scaffolding plan that minimised disruption to school operations and enabled our team, and the roofing contractors, to work safely and efficiently.

Communication is Key

Throughout the process, communication was key. We kept the school management informed about our progress and potential issues to minimise any possible disruption. Any necessary adjustments were discussed and implemented in a way that best served the needs of the school and ensured the project was completed on schedule and within budget.

Ultimately, our professional and experienced approach ensured a successful outcome with minimal disruption to the daily routine of the school.
