Independent chimney scaffold — for repairs to the stack itself, repointing, brick replacement, pot and flaunching work, an independent structure can be erected around or directly above the chimney, supported from the surrounding roof structure.

For most domestic chimney repairs, erection and dismantling can be completed in a day, with the working scaffold left in place for the duration of the repair. The overall hire period varies depending on the scope of work. A straightforward repoint might be complete in a day or two; more complex structural repairs may take longer.
