At Drake Scaffolding, Plymouth, the work we do is extremely varied and ranges from work on housing association buildings that need new roofs and renovation to hotels and other large buildings that require various elements of reconstruction or repair undertaken. A lot of the time we can see the buildings that we are going to be working on. Sometimes though, we are required to erect new build scaffolding for houses that haven’t even been constructed yet.
We do like this part of the job as it’s great to see the projects develop from nothing to beautiful homes. Last month, the Drake Scaffolding team started work on a South West new build scaffolding project of 37 properties. It will be a while until the job is completed but here is a look at the work that we have undertaken to three of the buildings so far.
A Little About the Project
Recently we worked on a project for Persimmon Homes, this time we are working on a new development – Bridge View Calstock. The site is situated between Tavistock and Callington in an area of outstanding natural beauty. When building in an AONB, much consideration has to be given to the environment and the land around the buildings. In this case the homes being built are Zero Carbon Homes on what will be a stylish selection of 2,3 and 4 bedroom homes.
A Project Completed in Stages
A large job like this needs to be completed in stages and to the requirements of the developers and builders/contractors that are working on the project. Currently we have completed the structures for 3 of the properties so there is still a lot of work to be done. You get some idea from the featured image what this project will look like when completed.
As always, the team approached the project with a commitment to health and safety, carrying out a full site survey and evaluating the complete project. We can’t wait to see what the finished homes will look like. For more information about our new build scaffolding service, please get in touch – 01752 719515.
