After the recent break, the team at Drake were glad to get back to it again this time installing Swindon scaffolding at a local school. We faced a few challenges that we hadn’t experienced before due to the Covid-19 pandemic and, just like the rest of the country, we were in unknown territory. Fortunately, due to the fact that we are used to having stringent health and safety policies to follow, the team were used to having to pay particular attention to detail and rose to this new challenge as we would expect.
Ideal Time to Undertake Swindon Scaffolding Project
With schools being so quiet, especially during prior to the June return for some children, it was the perfect time to carry out some much-needed work to the roof of a local school. To be able to access the roof however, the contractors needed us to install the Swindon scaffolding first.
Health and Safety Even More Paramount
Of course, in addition to the usual risk assessments that we undertake, we were required to produce additional method statements that covered the work being carried out with the necessary social distancing and hygiene practises as per government guidelines. The team had to be briefed on keeping their distance not only from one another but also to any passers-by, other contractors or people coming and going. This didn’t prove to be too much of a problem given that most of our work is carried out externally and often at higher levels than the general public.
